Vallarta's Mexican Restaurant

Cinco de Mayo.. crabmeat chimichanga was delicious. I had the number three combination wish which was basically so so. The Margaritas were awesome.

The place was bright and beautiful but our server was slow and seemed to want to be somewhere else. The food was delicious.

I enjoy coming to this restaurant, the drink special at happy hour is the best. The chips and salsa they bring before you’re meal is great. The food is good. Service was ok for it being a busy Tuesday night. Only down fall is one of the customers kept staring at my fiancé and he felt uncomfortable about it. I will return because of the food and drinks. Thanks for having us.

My family and I ate dinner at Vallartas-Tampa tonight. First I would like to say that the food was delicious. The atmosphere was a little disappointing while my family and I was enjoying our meal this family walked in appeared to be Caucasians from Spain. As soon as they sit down there daughter started starring at us calling us Nigar repeatedly and her parents kept trying to hush her. After that the staff stood over us as if we were going to attack the child. Being the conservative professionals we are we politely left a tip asked for a to go box and left. My meal was completely ruined. I think the management should have made them leave. It was very uncomfortable and disappointing. I didn't know people still use those words in 2019. Besides they are foreigners here if they don't like people of color then maybe they should go back to their country. This country is made of love and we are united as one. I will not be revisiting.

A true value buffet lunch, there were many items to choose from and everybitem that I tried was exceptional. The employees were extremely friendly and they continued to refill my beverage throughout the meal and even offered for me to take one home. Thank you!

I've been eating here since they opened. Great food and wonderful owner and staff. One drawback is everything is made from scratch so they do tend to have fluctuations in food taste. When it's low it's good. But when it's on point it is amazing.

Happened upon Vallartas while my car was being serviced next door and was immediately greeted by a smiling face who informed me it was 2 for 1 happy hour (beer, wine and margaritas!) ... Not typically a fan of frozen margaritas (though I do enjoy them on the rocks), I decided to try it since it was essentially half price and I'd be driving when my car was ready ... The perfectly blended 12 oz frozen margarita was actually quite delicious and the perfect companion for the complimentary chips and salsa (which were also tasty!). Though I didn't order food, the vast array of items coming out of the kitchen looked good and the couple who ordered the "tableside made guacamole" said it was delicious. Another patron raved about the daily lunch buffet -- and it was basically just a terrific experience!

Lunch buffet is reasonably priced and the food is delicious. Overall the restaurant is clean and the staff very attentive. My only complaint was that the horchata was not very well made. It was essentially rice water and not very cold either. This is the ONLY thing that kept this from being a 5 star review

Some of the food here is literally the worst Mexican I have ever eaten. My taco's were so greasy they were just oozing grease into my foil wrapper. Out of my 3 tacos I was only able to force 1 down before wanting to vomit from how greasy they were. My "fresh" jalapenos were not so fresh as they were mushy and browning. On a positive note the queso was amazing and our waitress was very sweet and had a smile on her face everytime I saw her. The waitress being so happy and the queso being so good are the only reason I would give this place 2 stars.

My “portobello mushroom quesadilla” was just a cheese quesadilla. (Takeout)

We enjoyed the lunch buffet ($11.99) and our 2 for 1 margaritas! The service was exceptional. The vegetarian options were good including mushroom quesadillas and cheese enchiladas. There were also fried shrimp on the buffet.

Good food. I go for the buffet, which I believe is only available at this location. It's not a very large buffet but there is enough to fill you up. The servers are nice though they don't usually speak much English. It's a nice laid back atmosphere.

Their buffet is amazing! It is not only a great deal making every single penny worth $😉 but also the food is fresh authentic Mexican. Best Margaritas in town 😊 Good service and atmosphere including the decoration.

Waited 20 minutes to ask what we wanted to order and when I asked for a water they brought a warm water and when I asked why it was warm she said that it some out of the faucet like that, that if I’d like she could put ice. I thought it was a joke

Worst mexican food in Tampa. I can't believe how bad is the Lunch Buffet. Bad choice. Never again

Best Mexican place I’ve found thus far in the Tampa Bay Area, as far as traditional Mexican food is concerned. My favorite is the chimichanga, which I get with shrimp for an additional charge. They also have a lunch buffet with Mexican staples, which is a deal for the price, and includes desserts like flan. Whenever I’m craving authentic Mexican food, this is my best bet, my only wish is that it were closer to South Tampa.

Visited on a Friday. Greeted & seated quickly. Food portions were great & tasted good. Pork tacos were fantastic. Free salad bar during the week (happy hour times). Free chips & salsa provided. They have updated the decor & lighting inside over the years from what I recall. Would visit again.

I love this place, the special dinner is big enough to fill the hungriest beast and it is always done wonderfully. They give you access to a small buffet with dinner purchase which has a tasty soup and other things like Mexican cheese to add to your dinner ( it helps cool it down and adds delicious cheese which I can never get enough of ) plus extra jalapenos . The only reason I left 4 stars instead of 5 is because they used to have a really good lunch buffet for like $7 but now its over priced and the quality went down. But as far as dinner goes , it is a 5 star experience.

I had to give one star because I had to. Zero was not an option. Not good quality. We tried the buffet-all the meats were bland. They tasted like they had been boiled in unseasoned water but very oily. My son ordered off of the menu- we thought it might be better. He ordered the burritos deluxe-That was same. The meat was mushy inside. Bland as well. All the tortillas-hard, soft, corn or flour were all stale. Churros included. The only thing that was good was the coke. I won’t be coming back. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My favorite Mexican lunch buffet! All you can eat buffet with a lot of mexican varieties. Great food at affordable price. Get ready to get full!! Why 4 stars?! I visited other Mexican restaurants that are more elegant and looked more clean.

Very disappointed with quality of food and there is a difference in the price from the price on the website verses the prices on restaurants menu...if there was Chuy's in the area they would put this restaurant to shame for Mexican food. First and last visit at this restaurant.

If you are cheap and need a Tex-Mex fix go for it. I wouldn’t go back...to many great Mexican options in the area.

They have a good lunch special and I have always had good food and experiences every time I have been here. Always a go to spot when I’m in the mood for tacos! Also I really like the sangria. Make sure you check this place out!

This place is reasonably priced and has good food. Their buffet is well worth the money. Very busy during lunch hours. The only reason for 3 stars is because i had better Mexican food in tampa. Great service too.

Some of my favorite Mexican food places in town. Love the employees and ownership here. They know my order when I come in and always quick on service. The lunch buffet is very underrated.

Family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids) came here the day before Mother's Day to celebrate the day with my wife and our kids.The atmosphere is welcoming and with authentic appeal.The Salad bar comes with the adult meals. All very fresh and large cut cucumbers and carrots. The soup was a chicken and small pasta and was very delicious. The salad bar was very limited in the scope of selections but I enjoyed the freshness.The meals took a little while longer than I would think was appropriate. The chips and salsa while we waited appeared home-made and was very good.The quesadilla came with American Cheese which my wife was not used to and did not like. The kids meal hot dogs were a hit with the 2 youngest and they are picky about hot dogs.Overall it was a good experience but make sure the cheeses are inquired about because we were not thrilled with the American Cheese on Mexican food.

Found this place after moving to the local area and we have enjoyed coming here. Happy hour (2 for 1 margaritas are great!), good prices, and great free chips and salsa all bring us back for more. In addition they have white cheese dip, which we gave up when we moved to California (north Mexico really) so that’s good and they have a large selection of entrees that all are really good. I took away one star just because they raised their prices recently, which is normal, but some of the increases were almost double. We typically spend around $50 for a family of four to eat here with two adult beverages.

I tried the buffet,nice set up ,well seasoned, attentive service,the salsa for the chips is so good.

Hadn't been here in a while. Decent food as usual, poor service this trip. We ever got our bill and felt like we were annoying them to pay it. Could have easily just walked out without doing so. Still smells funky, which is why we hadn't been in a while.
